These are just a few pictures from my voyage! 

My last journey..I hope!

I left again with my wife at home pregnant with the children. I did feel bad, but I promised her this was my last one, for sure this time. When we set sail a lot of crewmembers got sick and died. I found new ones, and they turned out being pirates that invaded the ship and threw me off. While on the island they dumped me off at, I saw many weird animals so I was trying to figure out how to get off. On my way "out" I was stopped by one of them. I tried defending myself, but that just brought more of them my way. I finally got to safety, and when I did I saw horses. These horses came to me and started having a conversation and I tried leaving, but just couldn't! I really think these "horses" are actually magicians that transformed themselves to horses. I asked them to take me to a village of some sort and all they said was, "Yahoo" and "Houyhnhnm" which I couldn't pronounce. The horses took me to a house where I saw MORE (talking) horses. I assumed the house belonged to humans that had horses as their servants. All the horses just kept saying "Yahoo" to me and led me out to the courtyard. There are many of those ugly creatures tied up out there. I am compared to those things and the horses offered me food that I turned down, because it looked gross, and that made them KNOW I wasn' t one of those ugly creatures. Another horse came to the house and all of them taught me their language. I found a bed and food at the house and I was happy. After a month or so, I am pretty good at their language. They still think I am a Yahoo though. I ask them not to call me that anymore, and they consent and quit. I explained to them that in England, the Yahoo's are made for governing and Houyhnhnms are made for racing and carrying chariots. They really don't believe me, so I explain how horses are trained to be stronger. They like hearing about my country so I keep telling them stuff. 

Over the past two years here, I have told my Houyhnhnm master about Europes wars and their laws and such.I also explained to them about food, money and the different occupations people have. I really like this country and try my hardest to stay here as long as I can. My master tells me that the people in Europe are much different than the Yahoo's. Their ways of living, government, , law, ways of living, but their "personalities" aren't different at all! Ireally wanted to see if he was correct on this statement. I learned that they really can't learn anything. The main virtues for Houyhnhnms are their friendship and benevolence. They care more about the community than they do with each other. The master decided to casterate the Yahoo's so they will just die out. The Houyhnhnms society begins to progress, they create poetry, build houses, have a knowledge of medecine and live to about seventy- five years old. They have NO way of saying anything evil to anyone. I got a room and made it feel really like home, because I had a feeling I would be there for a while. Some of the Houyhnhnms have taken this as an offence and I have to move out and go home. I am really sad about this because I really liked it here! I really do not want to go to England, so I try to find an island that I would want to live on. I found one, but am struck by an arrow and forced out. I then found another one, and I am dicovered by Don Pedro de Mendez. He gave me some food and drink then kicked me off that island. I decided to just return home to my family and spend time with them. They really figured I was dead since I hadn't been home in so long. I really don't even want to be with my wife and kids because I was so used to the nicer people. I started spending my time with two horses that I bought and I talk to them almost every day.

Maybe I wasn't done traveling...

I was home for ten days, then I was asked to go on another journey. This journey was planned for two months...if it went as scheduled. While we were on our boat, we were almost attacked by pirates! The pirates took over the ship and I tried my best to  communicate with them so I could be set free, but I made the pirates mad. They gave me a little boat and a little food. I finally found an island to go onto. I got there and there was no one there, but it was really dark. I looked up and there was a floating island. There was someone there to help me up onto it too. The people on this island are very odd. They are shaped very weird and are uneven.I was taken to the King, who does not speak the dame language as me and then taken to an apartment. They sent an instructor to teach me the language they spoke there. This islands name was Laputa, which I found out after being there a while. Laputa means, "floating island". They base their language on mathematical and musical concepts. This island is PERFECTLY round and moves on magnetic forces...I thought that was pretty cool! When the King feels as though he should punish part of the island, he will put the rest of the island above that part.

I really feel like I don't belong on this island at all. They let me down above the mountains of Legado and invited to stay at the lords home. The lord and I went to visit a poor town on the island. Everything there is small, broken and uncultivated. The lord told me about a time when the town had a school about agriculture and such and when it went downhill, they closed it and did nothing about it. I went to the Academey and saw men and boys working on interesting experiments, like making ice into gunpowder. On the opposite side of the Academy, they were making a tad more sense about what they were doing. I sat down to listen to the professors study the issues of government. I got tired of the Acadamey really fast and wanted to go back to England. I tried to travel to Luggnag, but there was no way of transporting me there. I had a month til I could leave so I took a trip to Glubbdubdrib which is the island of magicians. That place was a little creepy to me though. The Govenor could make you talk to anyone in the world, past or present, so I talked to a lot of people. I went to Luggnagg where I had to stay still. The Luggnaggians told me about the immortal people, they Struldbrugs. They live a very sad and depressing life. I was finally able to leave that place, and I landed in Japan. I was not there for long, then I was safely back home in England to see my family.

"Hello then Goodbye" is what I say to England!!

I was in England for two months, then I left again. I had plans to travel to the Cape of Good Hope and to Madagascar. While on our ship we were hit with a monsoon and it drew us off course. We landed somewhere unknown. We got off the boat for a while and walked around so we could maybe find out where we were. When I went back over to the boat I was shocked to see it pulling away, I tried to stop it, but there was no hope! I was stuck! I then walked around some more and I saw a giant, so I ran as fast as I could!! The farther I ran, the more I saw about this island. I found out that I was a midget surrounded by a lot of giants. When I was found, I was in a field that was being harvested. I was taken to a farmer, that I figure was like the head farmer. He was very confused when he saw me. The farmer did feed me dinner and treated me very well. I took a short nap in the mistresses bed after dinner and was woke up to two rats attacking me! I defended myself with my "hanger" or sword. I made it all by myself. That night I slept in the daughters baby doll crib so I could fit and not be bothered. The farmer was telling everyone about me and so there were always people stopping by to see me. One man told the farmer to take me into town and show me off. So I went to town and did tricks for the people to see. I started losing a lot of weight and not being fed as much. I was taken to the Queens palace to perform for her and she loved me so much that she bought me for 1,000 pieces of gold. I convinced the Queen to also let Gludamich live at the palace too. Gludamitch and I got a very nice apartment at the palace. The one dwarf in the palace did not like me, so he did everything he could to kill me, which didn't work. Bromdingnag is an interesting place geographically. The kingdom is bounded one side with water and one side with mountains. I am carried around the town in a "traveling box", therefore people know it is me. There is a few downfalls to being small in this town. One is that many mishaps happen to me. I am invited to many women's apartments and I am so not happy there! The Queen did get me a boat though for my size and I can row in around. A monkey came into our palace and it was very rambunctious It jumped on me and hurt me very bad, so I had to stay in bed for two weeks until I got better.

I always told the King about England and the customs of it. He thought England was an insignificant place.I tried to tell him the really good things about it, but he was convinced the good wasn't true. I found out (on my own) the people of Bromdingnag are ignorant and uneducated. I was tired of this place and decided to get a ship and I just started traveling. I go to a shore in my box and I was swept up by a hawk. I found myself in the box and hearing men talking. The box I was in was tied to a boat. The men on the boat were, thankfully, my size. I was so glad to be free and finally home. I told my wife this time, I was never going to go out to sea again!

The First Part of my Journey

I was born in in 1667 in Dublin. When I was fifteen years old I entered Trinity College in Dublin. I got my undergraduate degree in 1686. After trying many careers, I found that I want to go on ship voyages and be the navigation officer. The first ship I went on voyage as a navigation officer as hit a big storm. Many of our crewmen died, but me and five others got onto a small rowboat, our rowboat was not good enough for us, so I swam to shore and went to sleep. Once I woke up all I saw were tons of six-inch little humans. All these little people have tied me to the ground. I eventually break loose one of my arms, but then the little people fire bow and arrows at me so i could not do too much. I told them that I was very hungry and they brought me a lot of meat to feast on. One of the officials tells me that I am going to be carried into the big city, so I just agreed. We got to a giant temple and they tied me to in so i could only walk around in a circle on the outside of it. After being at the temple for a while they took me to a house, but it was still a little small for me. I was able to stick my head in though. From the house, I could see the beautiful town and see everyone. The emperor came to visit me often and gave servants orders to treat me well and give me anything I needed. I tried to have a conversation with the emperor, but we did not speak the same language, so it was really hard to understand him. I asked the emperor to set me free almost every morning, but it did not happen. The people made me a bed our of their six- hundred tiny beds. 

I am trying my hardest to be able to be set free, and I am trying to earn my liberty. I am being entertained though, by the Lilliputians. They are doing tricks and shows for me. The emporer keeps asking me to do a lot of things so I am hoping this is part of earning freedom. I asked for freedom again and I was set free under conditions from the Lilliputians. They gave me nine articles to live by to help them. The nine articles are:

First, The Man- Mountain shall not depart from our dominions, without our licence under our great seal.

Secondly, He shall not presume to come into our metropolis without our express order; at which time the inhabitants shall have two ours warning to keep within their doors.

Thirdly, The said Man- Mountain shall confine his walks to our principal high roads, and not offer to walk or lie down in a meadow or field of corn.

Fourthly, As he walks the said roads, he stall take the utmost care not to trample upon the bodies of any of our loving subjects, their horses, or carriages, nor take any of our said subjects into his hands without their own consent.

Fifthly, If an express require extraordinary dispatch, the Man-Mountain shall be obliged to carry in his pocket the messenger and horse a six days' journey once in every new moon, and return the said messenger back (if so required) safe for our Imperial Presence.

Sixthly, He shall be our ally against our enemies in the island of Blefuscu, and do his utmost to destroy their fleet, which is now preparing to invade us.

Seventh, The the said Man- Mountain shall, at his times of leisure, be aiding and assisting to our workmen, in helping to raise certain great stones, towards covering the wall of the principal park, and other our royal buildings.

Eighth, That the said Man-Mountain shall, into two moons' time, deliver in an exact survey of the circumference of our dominions by a computation of his own paces round the coast.

Lastly, That upon his solemn oath to observe all the above articles, the said man- Mountain shall have a daily allowance of meat and drink sufficient for the support of 1728 of our subjects, with free access to our Royal Person,and other marks of our favour. given at our palace at Belfa- borac the twelfth day of the ninety- first moon of our reign.

I came back to Lilliput after a small amount of time so I could see everyone. I was there for about two weeks when I got word that two forces had threatened the kingdom.  Lilliput needed help to defend themselves so I had to do what the Emperor asked of me, but I don't really want to intervene. I began to spy on the on one of the Emperors and I made a plan. I tied up the boats that belong to Blefuscu and took them over to Lilliput. All the Lilliputians called me a Hero for what I have done! Three weeks later, Blefuscu surrendered and the war was over. The Emperors wife's room was burning down and I had to save it, but I only had urine...therefore, that is what I used. I feared I would get in a great deal of trouble for doing this, but the Emperor said he would excuse me of it, because I helped his wife. 

The Lilliputians have a weird way of living, their customs are totally different then ours in England. A few things that are really weird is that, they are buried with their heads downward, their children go to school and live there when they are young and they see their parents only two times a year. The government makes the children stay at the schools all the time because they do not what the adults to mess up their kids. When I decided to leave Lilliput again one of the court officials charges me with treason by enemies in the government. They really wanted to starve me to death, but then just decided to poke my eyeballs out! I am terrified of this so I just went across the channel to Blefuscu.I found a boat I could travel in and the emperor of Blefuscu, I was very grateful for his help. The emporor of Lilliput sent me a message that demanded me to go back over there and lose my sight. The emperor in Blefuscu told him that I was leaving both kingdoms. I returned to England and sold the little animals I stole from Blefuscu and made a little profit.
